1. Representation of Gather
Volunteers are ambassadors of Gather Thrift & Café and The Gathering Place. Please demonstrate integrity, warmth, and professionalism in every interaction—with customers, staff, and other volunteers. We ask that all volunteers align with Gather’s values of hospitality, excellence, and Christ-like service. 2. Conduct
Treat all individuals with respect and kindness. Discrimination, gossip, or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. Follow instructions from Gather staff and work cooperatively as part of the team. Personal phone use should be minimal during volunteer shifts (emergencies only). Gather is a smoke-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free environment. 3. Dress Code
Please dress modestly and appropriately for your volunteer role. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety. Volunteers should wear a Gather name tag or apron (provided) during shifts. 4. Attendance & Scheduling
If you need to cancel or are running late, notify Gather staff as soon as possible. Consistency is valued, but flexibility is appreciated—occasional or seasonal volunteers are welcome. 5. Confidentiality
Information about customers, donors, or internal operations should be kept private. Photos or social media posts related to Gather should be positive and appropriate. 6. Health & Safety
Follow all safety procedures and instructions given by Gather staff. Report any injuries, unsafe conditions, or incidents immediately to a staff member. Volunteers should not lift heavy items without assistance or training. 7. Food Handling (for Café Volunteers)
Follow all hygiene standards, including frequent handwashing and wearing gloves where required. Only trained volunteers may handle or serve food and beverages. 8. Youth Volunteers
Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or approved supervisor. Parental consent is required for all volunteers under 18. 9. Boundaries & Faith Expression

I have read and agree to abide by Gather Thrift & Café’s volunteer policies and guidelines. I understand that volunteering involves certain risks, including but not limited to physical activity, handling merchandise, interacting with the public, and working with equipment. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation and release and hold harmless The Gathering Place, Gather Thrift & Café, its officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any and all liability, claims, or demands for personal injury, illness, property damage, or loss that may result from my volunteer service. I give permission for The Gathering Place to use photos or videos of me taken during volunteer service for promotional or ministry purposes. I understand that Gather may terminate my volunteer involvement at any time for any reason deemed appropriate. If I am under 18, my parent or guardian has reviewed and signed this release. I understand that Gather Thrift & Café is a faith-based organization. I agree to follow Gather’s volunteer policies and guidelines. I consent to background screening (if applicable).
